Teachers’ Day – A Celebration of People Who Shape Us

“True teachers are those who help us think for ourselves.” – Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.

To be a teacher requires a strong commitment and understanding for shaping young minds and directing them toward success. The purpose of Teachers’ Day is to acknowledge teachers’ pivotal role in preparing their students for the challenges that the future holds. They not only help the students to chase their passion but also achieve their goals while maintaining their moral principles and feeling of social obligation.

Dr. Radhakrishnan, who was elected the president of India in 1962, was born on September 5th, 1888. His students once approached him to seek permission to celebrate September 5th as a special day on which he said, “It would be my proud honour if September 5th were to be recognized as Teachers’ Day.” His
affection for the teaching profession was evident in this request. He never stopped being a teacher, regardless of the position he occupied.

Being away from home has always got us emotional. However, professors here at SIBM-H, have been our constant support. Along with mentoring us to become a better version of ourselves which helps us develop our area of interest, they also guide us to strengthen our knowledge to help us pursue our specialization. At times, they are indeed strict when it comes to specific rules and regulations because they know life will not be easy outside the campus. Our professors are encouraging and appreciating, which keeps us boosted throughout the day, ensuring that we don’t lose hope in ourselves and remain optimistic.

At every chance given, we are always thankful to our teachers for seeing the good in every one of us.
