Sexual harassment is a prevalent problem in our society that doesn’t differentiate the caste, age, or gender of an individual. The harm caused due to this to an individual can be physical and psychological. In most cases, the psychological damage is so deep that the victims cannot ever face society. So, to prevent this from happening in India, we, team Shakti-The Women Development & Social Responsibility Cell of SIBM Hyderabad, worked in collaboration with SCMS Hyderabad and SLS Hyderabad.
Symbiosis Law School was elated to bring the guest speaker, Dr. Rama Devi Gudemela, to the event. The guest lecture was planned on 6th Dec 2022 from 3 pm in the conventional hall. She discussed the numerous IPC acts on sexual harassment and provided a list of potential measures that could be taken to stop it when someone notices indicators of harassment. On top of this, a Nukkad Natak was organized by Team Shakti in Collaboration with Antardhwani-Team Abhinay on the topic “Prevention of Sexual Harassment.”
Pratibimb- The Photography Club, and DARC- The Discipline and Anti-Ragging Committee of SIBM Hyderabad, collaborated with Team Shakti to make this event successful. The guest lecture was a wonderful experience for me. The vote of thanks was given by Dr. Riddhi Rani, assistant professor and faculty-in-charge of Shakti-The Women Development and Social Responsibility Cell, during the close of the event. The event was a great success.
