By the time classes end at 4:30 PM, what follows is a completely different kind of preparation — updating resumes, researching companies, practising mock interviews, and preparing for group discussions.
The SIP interview process is not just about answering questions; it tests your patience, confidence, consistency, and resilience. One moment you’re revising financial concepts, and the next moment you’re switching to marketing frameworks or HR theories, depending on the role you’re shortlisted for. The constant need to stay prepared for anything and everything makes this phase both mentally and physically exhausting.
Adding to this are internal assessments, surprise quizzes, project submissions, and presentations that run parallel to the placement process. Managing deadlines while simultaneously preparing for interviews becomes a daily balancing act. Sleep schedules go haywire, caffeine intake increases, and library visits become more frequent than hostel room hangouts.
However, amidst all the chaos, Semester 2 teaches some of the most valuable lessons in time management, prioritisation, and stress handling. It pushes students out of their comfort zones and encourages them to perform under pressure — a skill that will prove essential in the corporate world.
While the SIP interview season is undoubtedly hectic, it is also an exciting phase that brings students closer to their professional journeys. Every shortlist, every interview call, and every learning experience contributes towards personal and professional growth.
