Anchoring My Way Into India’s Knowledge Legacy

Anchoring the Indian Knowledge Systems event at Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Hyderabad was one of the most meaningful opportunities I have experienced in my MBA journey so far. Standing on that stage, welcoming distinguished speakers, and being a part of an event that celebrated India’s intellectual heritage felt both empowering and transformative. It was the kind of platform that not only connects you to knowledge, but also connects you to a deeper version of yourself.

As I held the microphone and looked across the auditorium, I felt a sense of pride that surprised me. Because if someone had told my younger self that one day I would be confidently anchoring such a prestigious event, I would never have believed them. Growing up, public speaking was something that filled me with fear. Even reading a single paragraph aloud in school would make my heart race. My voice would shake, my palms would sweat, and all I wanted in those moments was to finish quickly and sit back down. Confidence always felt like something other people possessed effortlessly, while I stayed hidden in the background.

But something changed when I came to Symbiosis. The environment here has a way of gently pushing you forward. It gives you the kind of opportunities that challenge your limits, broaden your perspective, and slowly build the confidence you once believed you lacked. Through classroom presentations, committee responsibilities, interactive sessions, and now anchoring, I began stepping outside my comfort zone without even realizing it. Each experience chipped away at my fear and replaced it with belief.

Anchoring the Indian Knowledge Systems event became a moment of realization. It showed me how much I have grown, not just academically but as a person. Listening to Shri Pavan K. Varma and Prof. B. P. Sharma share their thoughts on Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, ethical governance, cultural rootedness, and sustainable development was truly enriching. Their insights reminded me of the depth and brilliance of India’s intellectual traditions. Being able to introduce them,

guide the flow of the event, and represent my institute on that stage felt like an honor I will carry with me for a long time.

What made the experience even more special was how it reflected my personal journey. It made me think about how courage often builds quietly, through everyday moments. It made me appreciate how growth sometimes slips into our lives without making any noise. And it made me realize how important it is to have an environment that believes in you even before you believe in yourself.

For me, this event was more than a role. It was a personal milestone. It reminded me that facing your fears, even in small steps, can lead to achievements you never imagined. It taught me that confidence is not something you wake up with one day. It is something you grow into, moment by moment, opportunity by opportunity.

I am grateful to Symbiosis for providing spaces where students like me can explore, experiment, and evolve. Every opportunity here feels like an invitation to discover new strengths. Anchoring this event has given me a renewed sense of belief in myself, and a deeper appreciation for the journey I am on.

As I move forward in my MBA journey, I hope to carry this confidence with me. I hope to continue embracing opportunities that challenge me. And I hope to keep growing into the version of myself that once felt out of reach. This experience will always remind me of how far I have come and how far I can go.
