In the Spotlight: My Journey of Anchoring Symbi Talks 10.0

Anchoring Symbi Talks 10.0 – Day 2, the flagship event of SIBM Hyderabad, was one of the most exhilarating and formative experiences of my MBA journey so far. The very idea of standing on a stage that had previously hosted distinguished leaders, entrepreneurs, and changemakers filled me with a sense of pride and responsibility. Day 2 of the event, which I had the privilege to anchor, tested not only my public-speaking ability but also my composure, adaptability, and presence of mind.

The task of anchoring goes far beyond reading out a script. The flow of the event is dynamic and often unpredictable, which meant I had to stay alert and quick in responding to sudden changes. Sessions shifted, introductions had to be rephrased, and sometimes panelists needed more time to arrive on stage. Each such moment required me to think on my feet, improvise when necessary, and maintain the energy of the audience without allowing them to sense the hustle happening backstage. This ability to balance grace on stage with alertness behind the scenes was one of the most valuable skills I developed during the experience.

Another highlight of this journey was the invaluable support and guidance I received from my seniors. Their feedback during rehearsals on body language, tone, and the art of connecting with an audience helped me tremendously. They reminded me that an anchor is not just a speaker but also the thread that ties the entire event together. Following their guidance, I worked on my voice modulation, eye contact, and timing, ensuring that my delivery carried both confidence and warmth.

The backstage experience was equally intense. It demanded seamless coordination with the organizing committee to keep the event running smoothly. Communication with the technical team, session moderators, and fellow student coordinators made me realize the importance of teamwork and how every small effort contributes to the larger picture. I understood that while the spotlight may fall on the anchor, the success of the event is truly a collective achievement.

What made the experience even more rewarding was the opportunity to meet and interact with some of the esteemed panelists and speakers. Their appreciation for the way the event was conducted gave me a great sense of accomplishment. To know that industry leaders who are used to professional forums felt comfortable and valued on our stage was a testament not only to the event’s planning but also to my delivery as an anchor. Their encouraging words motivated me to continue honing my skills and reminded me of the value of clear communication in professional spaces.

In retrospect, anchoring SymbiTalks 10.0 was much more than a stage performance. It was a journey of personal growth, of learning to stay composed under pressure, and of realizing the impact one can create through effective communication. The experience gave me confidence to face larger audiences in the future, broadened my perspective on teamwork, and instilled in me a deep appreciation for the power of collaboration. It truly stands as one of the most enriching moments of my MBA life at SIBM Hyderabad.
