It’s hard to believe it’s been a few weeks since I started my Summer Internship. The journey so far has been full of learning, growth, and, most of all, transformation. Looking back now, I can see how much I’ve evolved — both professionally and personally — and I’m excited to share this experience in words, knowing I’ll revisit it with pride.
I’m interning with Leadership Thrives in the Learning & Development domain, working on Workshop Content Research and Development. At first glance, the task might seem straightforward, but it’s been anything but. It’s been a path of depth, discovery, and real-time application of concepts that I’m passionate about.
Kicking Off with Women’s Leadership
The first big project I worked on was a Women’s Leadership Program. What started as an exercise in research quickly grew into something much more personal. As I delved into books, research papers, and workplace blogs, I realized that creating content for women leaders wasn’t just about designing training — it was about making a difference in the real world. The responsibility was exciting, and it was also deeply fulfilling.
I focused on ensuring the modules were not just informative but transformative. I incorporated real- world case examples, relatable stories, and interactive activities. I wanted the sessions to be engaging and memorable — a blend of content, empathy, and creativity. What surprised me most was how creative the process of content development could be — merging facts with stories, structure with flow.
From Slides to Strategy
Once the content was ready, I shifted to developing presentations. This phase was a lot more than just organizing slides. I brainstormed activities, crafted facilitator guides, and added speaker notes that would help trainers lead the sessions smoothly. What truly fascinated me was thinking from both the learner’s and trainer’s perspectives. It helped me realize the amount of intentionality and care that goes into designing impactful learning experiences.
A Quick Word on the POSH Module
In addition to the leadership program, I also worked on a module for Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH). While this module was more concise, it carried significant weight. The goal was to deliver the message clearly and respectfully — simple, yet powerful. The challenge was balancing clarity without oversimplifying a sensitive topic.
Lessons Beyond the Module

Lessons Beyond the Module
Along the way, I’ve picked up some invaluable lessons:
Research is only powerful when it’s filtered through relevance.
Simplicity in communication is a game-changer, especially when designing for adult learners.
Feedback is priceless. Iterating on content after receiving feedback from mentors gave me sharper clarity and improved outcomes.
Good learning content doesn’t just inform — it empowers the learner to act and grow.
Looking Ahead
With a few weeks still remaining in my internship, I’m eager to continue pushing myself. I want to deepen my understanding of instructional design and focus on developing modules that are even more interactive and learner-centric. I’m excited to dive into new projects and further refine my skills in content creation, ensuring that every piece of training I design speaks to the needs and aspirations of the learners.
Reflecting on this journey, I already feel like I’ve grown in ways I hadn’t anticipated. I’m learning not only the technical side of training design but also how to create experiences that leave a lasting impact. The most rewarding part of this SIP journey so far has been seeing my ideas evolve into structured, impactful content that has the potential to create meaningful learning experiences.
