Learning Beyond Policies: My Internship with V Axis LEARNING

Some internships teach you technical skills—but this one taught me life lessons. My time at V Axis
LEARNING was not just an introduction to the insurance sector; it was a deep dive into how
conversations, empathy, and genuine intent can create real impact. It gave me a new lens to see not
only the industry but also myself—as a learner, a communicator, and a future leader.

We began our journey by understanding the basics: what insurance truly means, why it matters, and
how it touches people’s lives in ways most do not even realize. From health and life to motor and
general insurance, we explored different types and how each addresses specific needs and risks. The
stories, the impact, and the responsibility behind every policy opened my eyes to a world that is
more human than transactional.

What made this internship unique was the way learning happened—experiential, interactive, and
rooted in real scenarios. One memorable moment was our visit to RBVRR College, where we
conducted mock interviews for the students. It was not just about guiding them—it was about
reflecting on our own growth. Standing in that room, interacting with peers from another institution,
made me feel both responsible and proud.

Beyond field visits and assignments, we dived into the business side of insurance—how companies
operate, the strategies they adopt to connect with customers, and what differentiates one brand
from another. We learned how products are positioned, how agents approach prospects, and how a
simple conversation can lead to life-changing decisions for families.

Throughout this journey, we were supported by two exceptional mentors—Vikas Sir and Dilip Sir.
Their insights, encouragement, and unwavering belief in us shaped not just what we learned but how
we learned it. Whether it was role plays, group discussions, or one-on-one feedback sessions, they
ensured we were always growing.

At SIBM Hyderabad, we are taught to approach the world with curiosity, empathy, and a willingness
to evolve. This internship helped me put all of that into action. It was not just about gaining industry
knowledge—it was about understanding people, stories, and the power of trust.
Looking back, I see this internship not as a project, but as a turning point. And for that, I’m truly
grateful
