Embarking on my internship journey at CFO Bridge Services Pvt. Ltd. as a Financial Planning
Analyst has been a deeply enriching experience. Over the past few weeks, I’ve had the
opportunity to dive into the core of financial decision-making, equipping myself with real-world
tools and perspectives that extend beyond the textbook.
One of the most significant aspects of my role has been conducting in-depth analysis of financial
statements. I’ve learned to interpret balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
not just as numbers on a page, but as dynamic narratives that tell the story of a business’s
financial health. This process sharpened my ability to detect trends, understand key financial
ratios, and make informed observations that are crucial for strategic planning.
Another core part of my internship has been understanding the revenue constructs of various
businesses. Each company has its own unique revenue model, and breaking it down to its
individual components has helped me appreciate the diverse ways in which businesses generate
value. Whether it was recurring vs. non-recurring income, or direct vs. indirect revenue streams,
this exposure has greatly expanded my commercial acumen.
Equally important was diving into cost breakup analysis. Categorizing costs into fixed, variable,
and semi-variable has helped me understand their impact on profitability and budgeting. This
exercise has taught me the importance of efficient cost management, especially in volatile
markets.
A highlight of my internship has been creating a Management Information System (MIS) Deck.
This task pushed me to synthesize large volumes of data into clear, concise, and actionable
reports. Designing these decks not only honed my technical skills in Excel and PowerPoint but
also taught me how to communicate financial insights effectively to senior leadership.
In essence, this internship has not only strengthened my foundational knowledge in finance but
has also given me a clearer perspective on the role of financial planning in steering business
strategy. I’m grateful for this hands-on learning opportunity and excited to carry these insights
forward into my career
