Anchoring at SymbiTalks – A Defining Experience

Anchoring Day 1 of SymbiTalks 10.0, the flagship event of SIBM Hyderabad, was an experience I will always treasure. As a member of the Literary Committee, InkSleuths, I was used to being part of the team, but stepping onto the stage as an anchor was a whole new challenge. The moment I held the mic, I felt the weight of representing my batch and my institute in front of a packed auditorium.

The guidance I received from my seniors played a huge role in helping me prepare. Their tips on handling nervousness, maintaining composure, and building a connection with the audience gave me the confidence to step onto the stage with a steady voice. They reminded me that an anchor is not just someone who speaks but someone who carries the audience along, and that thought stayed with me throughout the event.

Day 1 was filled with its share of unexpected changes—timings shifted, transitions came faster than planned, and the customized thankyou kept me on my toes. Each moment tested my ability to stay calm and think quickly, but that challenge made the experience all the more rewarding. What stood out to me was the sense of teamwork; even though I was under the spotlight, I always felt supported by the committee members, coordinators, and seniors who had my back.

By the end of the day, the nervousness had turned into pride. Anchoring SymbiTalks wasn’t just about being on stage—it was about learning to adapt, trusting myself, and realizing that growth often comes when you dare to step out of your comfort zone.
