Deciphering Budget 2020

Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM H) over the years has taken giant strides in delivering quality management education with a unique blend of knowledge, skills and practical exposure.

In order to continue further with this endeavour, the institute takes immense pride in conducting sessions that are relevant, insightful and informative. The Budget Panel Discussion slated to happen on the 29th of February, 2020 is one such event.

The MINT Club (Finance specialization club of SIBM Hyderabad) is working closely with the faculty and student council to ensure that eminent speakers are given the right forum to enlighten some of the brightest minds in the country with their analysis of the Budget 2020 which impacts one and all. Interaction with the corporate leaders expose the MBA (Finance, Marketing, Operations, HR) students to contemporary business practices and provide sufficient food for thought, thus laying a strong base for incisive thinking and the conviction for creative solutions.

One of India’s most loved visionary, its former president Dr APJ Abdul Kalam once said A developed India by 2020, or even earlier, is not a dream. It need not be a mere vision in the minds of many Indians. It is a mission we can all take upand succeed.” And now India approaching the year 2020, and is at the gateway of being a developed nation. We have dared to dream, dared to have a vision and the present vision is to become a 5 trillion Dollar Economy.

A major challenge in order to achieve the vision of 5 trillion dollar is economy is wealth creation at the grassroot level. The economic survey 2019-20 mentioned about the role of grassroots entrepreneurs in creating wealth in their districts, markets enabling wealth creation, and removing anachronistic government interventions among its 10 new ideas.

This makes us believe that entrepreneurship that brings together new ideas and innovation will be significant towards achieving the objective of wealth creation. In addition, the role financial institutions is key to complement government policies as they are major intermediaries between the policymakers and the stakeholders, i.e. the public, corporates, businesses at large.

The speakers will speak on broad areas of budget and its implications on economy, role of citizens, entrepreneurs, keeping the central theme of wealth creation at grassroots in perspective. This edition of the Budget Panel promises to be exciting, enriching and insightful at the same time. These are uncertain, yet interesting times and may be why this session is key for you or me will only be answered once we grace our presence and listen to this discussion.

MBA(Finance, Marketing, Operations, HR)  students of SIBM Hyderabad will present papers on the theme of
